Her Excellency, Aisha Buhari, wife of President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria has been honoured with Prix de la Fondation award in Brussels, Belgium. The Prix de la Fondation, which is usually given to top personalities was awarded to Aisha Buhari on Wednesday, 19^th October, 2016 at the African Women’s Forum Crans Montana.

The Nigerian president’s wife spoke on the theme “Women’s role in global security” at the forum. She was presented the award by Didier Reynders, Belgian deputy prime minister & minister of foreign & European affairs.

“I whole-heartedly dedicate the award  to the Nigerian military men and women who have lost their lives and those at the war front battling to restore peace in the North East.”
