Indeed, these are not the best of times for all members of All Progressive Congress (APC) in the country especially South West States due to the upset recorded during Ekiti State governorship election when the party lost to the PDP.
While many of the APC members could not bring themselves to the reality on ground, the serving governors on the platform of the party seem to be the most hit as their second term ambition is facing a serious threat due to Ekiti election result.
Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State whose ambition of retaining his position now looks more precarious with growing opposition on daily basis has decided to change his style of governance as he has started paying many outstanding entitlements of workers and public office holders to the amazement of both the beneficiaries and the entire public who know his style.
The governor who started with the payment of severance allowance of past political office holders numbering about 100 is also learnt to have promised to pay furniture allowances of serving 236 councillors across the State.
Also, civil servants in the state can now heave a sigh of relief after three years of Amosun Government as he has pledged to release their housing and car loans to their delight.
The monarchs who are also not left out of the sudden largesse have also been promised a brand new car each.
Meanwhile, opposition in the state has started warning members of the public not to be hoodwinked by “santa clause” sudden image of the governor as it is another means of the governor to deceive them to vote for him again in 2015.
However, aides of the governor have started shouting that what people are seeing now has been in the pipeline long time ago, arguing that such things could not have been planned and executed within such a short period of time.
