West-Idahosa Warned By EFG

Ehiogie West-Idahosa has been warned by a group under the aegis of Edo First for Growth (EFG).

The group chided the Edo-born lawyer and former member of Federal House of Representatives for using proxies to defend his professional misconduct.

In a statement released on Tuesday, August 18th, 2020 the group via its Spokesperson, Yusuf Amedu said;

“What well meaning Edo people expect from him is to accept that he goofed and immediately make moves to atone for the needless political upheaval he caused the state.”

“Everyone expect that West-Idahosa will be more guided in his political and professional conduct judging from his long years at the bar and at the National Assembly.”

“It is disheartening that the lawyer of such experience could throw caution to the wind, preferring to further his own selfish expediency at the cost of the peace of Edo state.”

“West-Idahosa should have considered his career at the bar when he wrote a misleading letter to the Honourable Minister and Attorney General of the Federation to interfere in the Edo Assembly matter that was already sub judice.”

“He should have been more circumspect about orchestrating illegality in Edo Assembly if he consider that becoming a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) meant so much to his career, why is he now crying about sabotage when he drew blood first.”

“Barr. West-Idahosa’s ignoble role in that saga is a gross professional misconduct warranting stern reprieve as it could have led to anarchy and wanton loss of lives and properties of Edo people had it not been foiled by the vigilant government of Godwin Obaseki.”

“The former lawmaker should quickly correct his grave errors instead of casting aspersions on noble Bini men like Earl Osaro Onaiwu who only made a media statement against his action after some other aggrieved parties had already petitioned his professional body.”

“It was a fellow legal practitioner in the name of Victor Ikem Aguguesi, not Osaro Onaiwu that petitioned the Chief Justice of Nigeria as the Chairman of the Legal Practitioners Privileges Committee.”

“That Ehiogie West-Idahosa is a Bini man does not mean that another Bini man like Osaro Onaiwu or any other Elder Statesman cannot caution him when his actions put the political careers and lives of other Bini people and Edo people in general at risk.”
