The rave of the moment Islamic singer, Sheik Ismail Aderemi a.k.a Toro Kobo said he joined the music industry to make a change.
The Alfa Mi Ni crooner stated this in an exclusive interview with our reporter at the location, where the video of his latest album, Kedimo was shot. His words; “With every Glory to the Almighty Allah, I am not into music strictly to make money but to effect changes. Music should not just be about making money but it should be seen as a powerful tool to effectively propagate Islam and win souls for Allah and that I have come to do”.
“People are no longer interested in listening to preachings because they have heard it over and over again but whenever there is concert, you see them there in hundreds. So, if they attend concerts, I can also preach there and still make changes because my brand of music fits into concert. I have come to make changes”.
The multi-talented singer maintained that his focus in music is to campaign for the peaceful co-existence of Nigerians irrespective of their faith and winning souls for Allah. He stated that God is one but the difference is in the manner through which individuals call onto Him. “I believe that God is one. Every individual call onto Him differently, so that should not affect our co-existence. We must learn to tolerate ourselves because Islam is truly a religion of peace”. Going down memory lane, he recalled; “I was born by a christian mother to a Muslim father. Both of them lived peacefully till my father passed on. So, I believe that irrespective of our fates, we can live together peacefully”.
Speaking on the multi-million naira video of his album Kedimo (Respect), which is already enjoying heavy air play on radio across Nigeria, the widely travelled Islamic Cleric says; “With the help of Almighty Allah, I have gotten to a stage in my life where I cannot compromise standards. Whatever I do must measure to the world standard”.
To his numerous fans, he advised, “let us remember always that Islam is a religion of peace. Let us live in peace with our neighbours”. He concluded by assuring them that; “I will continue, Insha Allah to give you spiritually enriching music that will not be short of world standards”.
