Copyright Association of Nigeria (COSON) chairman, Tony Okoroji has been taken to the cleaners by Charlimo Imoloame, a former Director of COSON.
He said; “This is the “crowd” that was present at the COSON Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the COSON House in Ikeja Lagos.”
“Their names were on the special privileged list, while other members and former directors were denied entry to the COSON House.”
“The COSON Chairman, Tony Okoroji is not transparent, the General Manager is not competent. The society needs redemption from a non-performing hand-picked board members and chairman they have led COSON to a point where the company no longer have a license to operate as a collecting society.”
“The most worrisome case is some fraud alligations against the chairman and the way he refuses to be regulated by NCC. We know that the commercial banks are regulated by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), so also COSON is regulated by the Nigeria Copyright Commission (NCC).”
“COSON license will not be renewed if we don’t comply with the orders of NCC. This can not happen with the present board that has taken NCC our regulators to court.”
“For me I pronounce a vote of no confidence on the board as currently constituted. The board should be dissolved with immediate effect to allow a fresh beginning. My humble opinion.”
