Theodore Orji In Hot Soup

Ex-Governor Theodore Orji of Abia State is in big trouble. The senator representing Abia-Central Senatorial District is being grilled by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over N27 billion fraud allegation.

Insiders squealed to us that the lawmaker went to the EFCC office in Abuja on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 along with his lawyer to explain how he mismanaged about N27billion.

Our sources added that series of petitions have been written against the former governor after he left office in 2015 and the EFCC have commenced investigation, but was waiting for enough evidence before inviting him.

The allegations levelled against him was that he diverted billions of naira disbursed to Abia State by the Central Bank of Nigeria for Small and Medium Enterprise. The lawmaker was also alleged to have diverted money from the Ecological Fund account.

The ex-governor allegedly diverted money from the Abia State Oil Producing Development Area Commission. The lawmaker allegedly used the funds to buy properties in Abia, Port Harcourt and Abuja, some of which the EFCC is planning to seize.
