Senator Ovie Omo-Agege who represents Delta Central Senatorial district has been arrested.

His arrest came immediately after the shameful display at the Senate chamber on Wednesday morning where the symbol of authority, “mace” was hijacked.
The lawmaker was thereby arrested following his alleged involvement in the snatching of the Senate’s mace when he personally led some group of thugs into the chambers.
The senator was apprehended immediately he came out of the chambers by a large number of policemen who were waiting patiently for him to step out of the Senate Chamber and was taken away in a black Hilux van.
Those in the know disclosed to us that the lawmaker tried to evade arrest by staying back at the chamber because of the immunity attached to lawmakers while in the gallery.
