On the 11th of July, 2017 we published a story on our website with the headline: HERITAGE BANK STAFF ARRESTED FOR FRAUD with the following report: Three bankers with Heritage Bank have been arrested by the police for allegedly hacking into the bank accounts of customers and diverting a total sum of N150m.
The bankers – Oyelade Shola-Isaac, 32, Osualale Hammid, 40, and Akeem Adesina, 33 – were apprehended along with eight other suspects in connection with the fraud.
We have discovered that the bankers that were arrested and paraded by operatives of the Special Fraud Unit of the Nigeria Police Force on Monday 10th July, 2017 are not staff of Heritage Bank.
We regret the injury this information might have done to the business, reputation and goodwill of Heritage Bank Plc.
