Peter Nwaoboshi Cries Out: “Mariam Ali Slapped Me Twice”

PETER NWAOBOSHIMariam AliChief Peter Nwaoboshi, Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Delta State is in pains, the brilliant lawyer cum astute politician is telling all those who cared to listen that the fracas involving him and the wife of the former national chairman of PDP, Dr. Ahmadu Ali recently in Asaba was caused by Chief (Mrs.) Mariam Ali and not him. “Despite the provocation, I did not retaliate, even when she slapped me twice and tore my cloth to shreds. She could have been lynched if not for my intervention and that of security men and elders of the party”.

Now what really happened that would make two top officials of PDP engaged in a free for all fight in public? Those who witnessed the show of shame told us that on Friday July 12th, 2014, top Delta State government officials and members of PDP had gathered at the state secretariat of the party for the presentation of cars to the party chairmen in the 25 local government areas of the state.

We were told that Chief (Mrs.) Mariam Ali who is the Special Adviser on Intergovernmental Affairs to President Goodluck Jonathan and BOT member of the PDP sat down on a chair on the high table and was ordered to vacate the chair by security agents for the Delta State deputy governor, Prof. Amos Utuama.

Sources said Chief Peter Nwaoboshi allegedly teamed up with the security agents to force her to vacate the chair. The Delta State PDP chairman’s action was said to have infuriated her and she challenged him. This led to a heated argument and before one could say Mike Tyson, blows and slaps started plying in different directions.

Those who saw the show of shame confirmed that both Chief (Mrs.) Mariam Ali and Chief Peter Nwaoboshi cloths were torn into shreds in the presence of their aides, top officials of the PDP and Delta State government.

furthermore, we gathered that some youths loyal to the PDP chairman stormed the battle ground and dragged the Special Adviser to the president on the floor like an ordinary pepper seller.

Be that as it may, insiders said the public fight between the duo is a fall out of their interest in the senate. We gathered that the combatants hail from Delta North Senatorial district of Delta State and both had indicated interest to vie for the senatorial seat presently occupied by Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Okowa who is eyeing the state governorship position.
