Governor Adegboyega Oyetola of Osun State and his predecessor, Rauf Aregbesola are now at war.
Insiders told us that the governor, who served as Chief of Staff to Aregbesola for 8years has been complaining bitterly about Osun’s finances that he inherited from Aregbesola.
Our sources added that apart from the heavy debts and a burden of unpaid salaries the governor inherited, he is also very angry with Aregbesola’s tinkering with the administrative structure of the state.
We gathered that the governor has changed many of Aregbesola’s policies such as the single school uniform, reclassification of the public school system, and the abolition of single-sex schools which Aregbesola introduced in 2013.
Besides, the state is now back to its constitutional name, Osun State, instead of the State of Osun that Aregbesola changed it to during his tenure.
Sources told us that Aregbesola has visited Oyetola only once since his inauguration in November 2018.
