Otedola Pays Ex-Super Eagles Goalkeeper Medical Bills

Chairman of Forte Oil Plc, Femi Otedola has come to the rescue of former Super Eagles Goalkeeper, Peter Fregene who has been bedridden since 2001.

The 72-year-old Fregene, who had been critically ill in Sapele, Delta State, will be airlifted from the Benin Airport in Edo State to Lagos on Friday, June 14th, 2019 for medical evaluation and treatment at Reddington Hospital, Lagos.

The former goalkeeper, who represented Nigeria at the 1968 Olympic Games, said;

“I’m leaving tomorrow (Friday) for Lagos for treatment through the help of Femi Otedola. He had earlier sent representatives to check on my health.”

“I’ll leave through the Benin Airport. Everything has been paid for by him (Otedola). I’m so happy for this. I’m so grateful to SUNDAY PUNCH for drawing the attention of Nigerians to my plight. Thank you.”

“After your report (SUNDAY PUNCH), several persons have reached out to Papa Fregene but Otedola’s contribution has been awesome. We are appealing to Nigerians to support Otedola’s noble effort.”

“We’re hopeful that Papa Fregene will walk again. We’re grateful to SUNDAY PUNCH. So, by Friday, he would be flown to Lagos through Benin to Reddington Hospital for treatment. We are counting on Nigerians for their prayers and financial support for him.”
