The Benin palace of the Oba of Benin came alive last week when he took delivery of some stolen artifacts, which were taken away more than one hundred years ago.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Prince Eden Akenzuwa, who stood in for the Benin monarch, expressed joy that, the artifacts which were stolen during the Benin invasion of 1897 have been returned and expressed hope that, the other ones will soon be returned by the British government.
Speaking further, the Benin monarch disclosed that, a committee has been set up which is working directly with the British government with the aim of retrieving all the stolen artifacts back to Benin kingdom. The ceremony took place at the Benin palace.
