MUDI Shakes Accra, Ghana

Influential Afro-Centric Brand, MUDI Africa recently stormed the exotic Ghanaian Capital Accra in celebration of its 10th year anniversary. According to its Creative Director, Mr. Mudiagha Enajemo, the occasion which also coincided with its 26th Year of boundary-pushing existence within the African Fashion space provided it with the immense opportunity to further push its very strong vision of externalizing the African essence through timeless and borderless pieces.

The celebration saw Iconic actor Richard Mofe-Damijo lead a carefully selected group including super Photographer, Kelechi Amadi Obi, Investment banker and Theatre Producer, Joseph Edgar; Radio personality, Chico and Media Entrepreneur, Azuka Ogujiuba to the Accra Capital in a frenzy movements all aimed at supporting and partying with the Mudi Brand as it came of age.

It was a three-day affair, which saw the group hosted by the crème de la crème of the Ghanaian society at the Coco Lounge nestled within the sweet ambiance of the Stanbic heights located downtown Accra. The group was hosted to some of the best in Ghanaian music with a sensitive mix of Popular Nigerian music. Radioman, Chico controlled the event expertly ensuring that all enjoyed themselves.

The next day, saw the group hosted to a sumptuous dinner by the darling of Ghanaian High Society, Mrs. Joyce Wasama who opened up her expansive stately home to the team from Mudi. The evening saw some of the most exotic wine served with the most delicious array of fine Ghanaian cuisine including the ever-popular Ghanaian couscous.

The evening ended with very deep and incisive discussions led by popular actor, RMD on socio-cultural ties between African countries and the role brands like Mudi is playing in fostering unity amongst Africans.

The highlight of the celebrations was the massively attended Fashion show which took place at the historic Castle in Central Accra. The Castle which is located a few meters from the Independence Square is said to be Head Quarters of the legendary Ghanaian leader, Jerry Rawlings.

Designers from all over Africa showcased their designs within the powerful background of the colonial castle with all its history providing a beautiful blend as the models strut their stuff on stage.

Mudi expectedly was the star of the night dropping twenty of the most eclectic designs eliciting appreciative grunts from the obviously elated crowd. His pieces further cemented Mudi’s reputation as the arrowhead of the African Fashion renaissance, pushing conservative boundaries and climaxing with a rousing standing ovation from an elated African crowd.
