No one needs a soothsayer to know that political alliances and calculations have begun earnestly across the country as 2015 general election is fast approaching.

One of such examples and that is currently taking its tolls on Ogun State politics is the rumour of former Governor Gbenga Daniel returning to his former party, Peoples Democratic Party(PDP).

The former governor rode to power in 2003 through the umbrella party but dumped it amid crisis during the twilight of his eight years reign for a relatively new party, Peoples Party of Nigeria (PPN)

Against wide speculations that the self styled “Lion of the West” would return to his former fold ahead 2015 elections, he ditched his baby party, PPN, but decided to pitch his tent with another party, Labour Party (LP).

Having fought tooth and nails to take over the structure of the party alongside his followers, Daniel who not only went ahead to strengthen the party but had also invested heavily to maintain the party’s structure across the 236 wards in the State to the amazement of many political observers.

Coupled with unending animosities between OGD and major financier of PDP in the State, Prince Buruji Kashamu, many observers still doubt the proposed plan of his return to the umbrella fold.

Meanwhile, many members of both PDP and LP who are currently working assiduously to edge each other out of political race seems to be confused on how the alliance of the two political rivals would work as it is learnt that stake holders of the parties have started series of meetings with the two major gladiators.

However, those behind the deft moves to remove Amosun from Oke-Mosan come 2015 at all cost, argued that the move is not only pertinent and timely but also calculative.

In order to lay credence to the political moves, a powerful delegation led by Senate President, David Mark visited Daniel at his Sagamu, Ogun State home in order to seal the deal which may change political permutations of the State ahead of 2015 elections.

According to insiders, some top aspirants on the platform of PDP are also not left out of those who now besiege the Sagamu country home of OGD, seeking the blessing of who is now considered to be a major determinant of the success of the “Amosun Must Go” Agenda.
