The atmospheric condition of Abeokuta city was electrified on 25th of June 2014 as the Ogun State capital hosted Catholic Priests from all the walks of life for the ordination of RT. REV. MSGR Peter Kayode Odetoyinbo as the second Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Abeokuta.

The event was held at the playing ground of St. Bernedette Nursery and Primary School, Oke-Ilewo, Abeokuta and it had in attendance thousands of Catholic faithful across the country who were excited over the appointment of the new Bishop.

Odetoyinbo who was described as a complete gentleman attended St. Theresa’s Minor Seminary, Oke-Are, Ibadan, Oyo State.
