Rt. Hon. Acho Ihim, Speaker of Imo State House of Assembly has denied his governorship ambition of succeeding Gov. Rochas Okorocha. His aide, Mr. Ben Ilochuonwu has told those who cared to listen that his boss has no such ambition.

He added that it is just a rumour and members of the Imo State House of Assembly have no plans to impeach the speaker over a rumoured governorship ambition.

Hon. Henry Uzoma Ezediaro, a member of the House revealed that: “There is no problem in the House and there is no division. It is not true that members want to impeach the speaker because we have been getting our legitimate entitlements as at when due. So, it is nothing but a mere rumour.”

“Besides, there is nothing wrong if the speaker is nursing the ambition to be governor but to say that some members of the House are plotting to impeach him on that basis is totally false, as the speaker has never told anyone, to the best of my knowledge, that he wants to contest for the governorship of the state in 2019.”
