By Niyi Babade (CNN)

Elders, political leaders, the youth and other stakeholders of Ijero Ekiti in Ekiti state have come together under one umbrella to form a coalition known as “Ijero Agenda” to collectively support and pursue the senatorial ambition of Chief Sesan Arowolo Oluomo to coast in success at forth coming senatorial election in the state as senator elect for Ekiti central senatorial district.

Speaking at a forum organised in the town the chairman of the coalition Hon. Yemi Arokodare said….

“My ambition to national Assembly almost suffered because of lack of such ijero agenda. The political class met at the Palace of Ajero so that we can initiate it. The 2 major political parties were well represented. We were given a matching order that we should go and struggle for a ticket. We fanned out and months later I was the only one that came back with a ticket to house of rep. So therefore Ijero Agenda is a must.”

Other notable stakeholders at the forum included Femi Arowomole, Sunday Alabi, Ayodele Bamikole the DG of campaign, Otunbab Niyi Babade Anthony and Otunba Niyi Babade of the CNN.

The forum also had in attendance prominent politicans and chiefs of Ijero Kingdom. The coalition through Otunba Niyi Babade Anthony spoke on the reasons for the agitation which included how the town has been relegated and neglected for so long in terms of development and infrastructures, last time the town experienced Federal presence or even infrastructural development was in the 90s and when Yemi Arokodare was in the house of Rep.

He said: “We, therefore, call on all sons and daughters of Ijero Kingdom and the entire Ijero local government to rally round our political symbol Chief Arowolo to be successful at the poll during this forthcoming election so that our past glory can be restored to us and the entire people of Ijero local government can enjoy the dividends of democracy, Otunba Niyi Babade submitted.

The chairman of the coalition Hon. Yemi Arokodare donated a huge sum of money to the coalition and other stakeholders followed in unison.
