Gov. Abubakar Sani Bello Fights Ex-Gov. Mu’azu Aliyu Dirty

Gov. Abubakar Sani Bello & Mu’azu AliyuGovernor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger State is very bitter and angry with former PDP governor of the state, Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu. The governor revealed recently that his predecessor and his officials withdrew over N70billion from the state accounts and could not account for it.

The governor said over N11billion was paid to Ward Development Projects account and Ministry of Local Government officials could not account for N2.86billion while N673.50million was spent on ghost vehicles and N675.50million cannot be traced. He added that N498million said to have been spent on security cannot be traced to any security outfit or individual.

That’s not all; His Excellency said that N5billion transferred to Ministry of Local Government never got to the various local government areas. According to him, the sum of N832.5million meant for 10km Road project was moved to Local Government Chairmen Forum, Government House got N75million and office of the Secretary to the State Government took N300million and that is why contractors abandoned the 10km Road projects as money meant to pay them was shared by Former Gov. Mu’azu Aliyu and his cronies.

Furthermore, the governor revealed that the former governor awarded a solar power streets lightening contract for N238.3million and paid N174.85million upfront to the contractor, then later revoked the contract without collecting the initial money paid to the contractor. He said the same contract was rewarded for N792million to another contractor. He added that his predecessor equally disposed the N500million bond of Niger State in a questionable manner. The APC governor promised to forward the financial recklessness report of the former governor to the EFCC.
