Glo’s Prof Johnbull Shifts Attention To Empty Promises By Political Class

The new episode of the TV Drama Series, Professor Johnbull, sponsored by the grandmasters of data, Globacom, this week shifts attention to the political class as the sitcom bemoans unrealistic campaign promises by politicians.

Billed for airing at 8.30 p.m. on Tuesday on NTA Network, NTA International on DSTV Channel 251 and NTA on StarTimes, the episode is entitled Campaign Promises  and will be rebroadcast on the same channels on Friday at the same time.

Regular viewers of the sensational TV drama series are assured of a full dose of laughter as the two protagonists in the electoral contest dramatized in the episode, Olaniyi, played by Yomi Fash-Lanso and Etuk (Imeh Bishop), try to outdo  each other in the contest for the chairmanship of the hospitality board in their locality.

Other regulars of the sitcom such as Professor Johnbull (Kanayo O. Kanayo), Caro (Mercy Johnson Okojie) Churchill (Jnr. Pope Odonwodo), Flash (Stephen Odimgbe), Mai Doya (Funky Mallam), Samson (Ogus Baba), Abadnego (Martins Nebo), Ufoma (Bimbo Akintola) and Jumoke (Bimbo Kosoko) also featured in the episode.

The episode examines issues such as unrealistic campaign promises, relevance of a person’s ethnicity in electoral contests, reasons for political violence, high cost of campaigns, amongst others.

The Executive Producer of the sitcom, Globacom, in a statement issued in Lagos on Monday urged viewers to make out time to watch the episode as “Campaign Promises is sure to reawaken the people’s consciousness to the roles they are expected to play before, during and after elections.”
