National Telecommunications Company, Globacom, has congratulated all Nigerian Muslims on the occasion of this year’s Eid-El-Kabir celebration.

In a press statement issued on Friday, 03/10/2014 in Lagos, Globacom urged muslims to use this period to reflect on the teachings of prophet Mohammed which center on love, sacrifice and peace.

“As they savour the joy of the occasion, we call on the Muslim Ummah to continue to live up to the tenets of the Islamic faith through acts of charity, peaceful co-existence with their neighbours and obedience to the injunctions of Holy Quran,” The statement added.

The Company also rejoices with all Nigerians who successfully performed the Hajj this year in fulfillment of a key injunction of the Islamic faith and urged them to imbibe the lessons of commitment, dedication and obedience to higher authority inherent in Prophet Ibraheem’s willingness to sacrifice his son in deference to the will of God which Eid-El-Kabir commemorates.

According to Globacom, “It is a season of charity, peace and forgiveness; we must remember to fend for the poor and the needy in line with Allah’s injunction to be our brother’s keeper.”

Globacom wished all the Muslim faithful’s a happy Sallah celebration and urged them to use the occasion to rededicate themselves to the service of Allah and humanity, while praying for the unity, progress and development of the nation.

The company said it had optimised it’s operations and special products to enable Muslim faithful enjoy quality service during the sallah celebration and beyond. Eid-El-Kabir is celebrated at the end of yearly pilgrimage (Hajj) to Mecca. It is held to commemorate the sacrifice that Ibrahim (PBUH) performed for God on his son Ishmael.
