Edo APC Still Intact After Defection – Ojezua

Barr. Augleu OjezuaNewly elected state chairman of All Progressive Congress, (APC), Barr. Augleu Ojezua has said that, the ruling party in the state is still intact in spite of the recent defection of some party members to the opposition party, the PDP.

Ojezua said this while reacting to the insinuations going round that, the ruling party is dead in the state.

According to the chairman who emerged in the just concluded state congress of the party, the party has just undergone what I will describe as surgical operation, where the unknown members were separated from the known members. Some of those who left never really believed in the development of the state, rather they are all interested in their personal and selfish desires.

The party chairman said that some members left as it was reported. In fact, some of them who were reported to be in the meeting where they took decision to leave the party have all returned and are being integrated back to the main stream of the party.

In the same vein, the chairman maintained that, the party is now better placed to win next year’s election. It is a pity that, those who left were so much in a hurry and said that, they did not want to resolve their problems which led to their exit from the party. The governorship election is still about two and half years away. The chairman disclosed that, the senate leaders of the party are presently reaching out to aggrieved members of the party with the sole purpose of bringing them back to the party, adding that the party is now positioned to win in the state.
