Dimeji Bankole In Trouble

Dimeji BankoleSometimes, life can play a cruel joke that can turn today’s hero into a villain in a few seconds. A seeming bad circumstance may come with all the didactic precepts of a lifetime. Many of the lessons that guide future actions are sometimes learnt on the sacrificial altar of someone else’s misery. It is now almost three years since Dimeji Bankole was removed as the Speaker of the House of Representatives. In that short spate of time, the son of political bigwig, Chief Bankole, must have realized how transient life is, and more importantly that as the fourth man in Nigeria, there is no permanent friend, only permanent interest.

Since then, the handsome dude has resigned to the fickle finger of fate, living a low profile life and adjusting to life without the exaggerated obsequiousness and panoplies of power. Like a human giraffe, sniffing down his nostril at mortals beneath his gaze.

Dimeji, has sure come in terms with the reality that he is no longer in power, but the need to go on with his political career has made him to vie for the governorship position of Ogun State, where he hails from, and he has since set machinery in motion to achieve that but what is audible to the deaf and visible to the blind, is that Dimeji, has continually met a brick wall and this makes his ambition to be far from becoming a reality. Aside of the fact that he does not enjoy a very healthy relationship with the people of Ogun State, especially, people of his constituency who voted him out of power, he also does not have the listening ears of the decision makers in his state.

We learnt the PDP South West coordinator, who also hails from Ogun State, Buruji Kashamu is not a fan of Dimeji. Meanwhile, Kashamu’s view on any aspirant in the state goes a long way, since he’s the defector. However, information reaching us has it that Dimeji, may have decided to take his destiny in his own hands, thereby making some moves, and this move, it was learnt may have put paid to his gubernatorial ambition because of the bitter experience he had in the course of his move.

Sources in the know revealed to us that the former speaker had made move to seek audience with President Jonathan to see how he could sell his aspiration to him and perhaps influence things by passing the power that be in the South West, but the shocker he got was a barrier mounted to unable him meet with the president. We were further told that Dimeji, was made to remain on waiting list for the period of two weeks before he eventually got an audience with the president. Detail of the meeting is what sources could not confirm.
