That Senate President Bukola Saraki has lost the Kwara Central Senatorial election to his opponent, Dr. Yahaya Oloriegbe of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Saturday, February 23, 2019 election is an established fact.
However, veteran journalist and publisher of Ovation International, Dele Momodu, had taken to his Twitter page to write the senate president. He tweeted…
“My dear Oloye, DR ABUBAKAR BUKOLA SARAKI, I appreciate the battles you fought for Democracy. But for you, and a few others, Nigeria would have been sentenced to a full-blown dictatorship. Because you stood, like the Rock of Gibraltar, elections and politics became full-scale war in Nigeria.”
“In the last four years, despite your epic support for the Saints, they threw everything at you, but God kept you going, miraculously. Today, as always, I salute your doggedness. You’re a General. The best is yet to come…”
Saraki polled a total of 68,994 votes in the four local governments of Kwara Central Senatorial District while Oloriegbe scored 123, 808 votes to emerge winner.
