Former Anambra State governor and former Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige has been arrested in Abuja.

He was taken into custody by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

His former media aide, Fred Chukwulobe disclosed this on Wednesday.

Chukwulobe said: “Former Governor of Anambra State and immediate past Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige, is with the EFCC. More details later.”

The arrest comes shortly after an attack on Ngige’s convoy in Anambra State, during which a police officer was reportedly shot and several others injured.

However, Ngige was not in the vehicle at the time of the attack.
