Teen beauty queens are gathering in the Southeastern Asian nation of Indonesia, host of the 2026 Miss Teen Icon International Pageantry coming up later this month.

Nigeria’s flag at the international beauty contest will be raised by 19 year old Miss Uche Chinaemerem Victory, a 300 Level Optometry undergraduate of Dennis Osadebe University, Delta state.

Speaking on her chances in Indonesia, Victory who is Miss Global Teen Nigeria Ist Runner Up 2025/ 2026, said she was optimistic of making Nigeria proud at the international beauty event, saying she draws inspiration from Agbani Darego, Miss World 2001 who she described as her role model.

“For making history for Nigeria and for inspiring young Nigerian women to dream big, Darego is my role model any day any time. I’m optimistic I will emerge victorious at the international beauty competition the same way she in 2001. I’m representing Nigeria at Miss Teen Icon International in Indonesia and I’m optimistic I will make my country proud”, she said.

On whether as a medical student, her modeling career will not pose a distraction to her education, Victory stressed that she balances both in a such a way that none interferes with the other.

“My modeling career does not pose a distraction to my education because I balance it with proper time management and discipline”, she remarked.
