Bringing to the fore, the ephemerality of life and the inevitability of death, the famous English Poet,  John Dryden, emphasizes that  “all human things are subject to decay, and when fate summons, monarchs must obey.”

The Igbokwe family of Akwu Akokwa,  Ideato North government area of Imo state must have taken solace in Dryden’s immortal quote above as they prepare to bid their Matriarch,  the late Lolo Ihenyinwa Igbokwe a befitting farewell.

The late Lolo Igbokwe who died at the ripe age of 80 will be committed to Mother Earth at her compound on Friday,  September 8, 2023, after a funeral service at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Akwu Akokwa.

During her lifetime,  Lolo Igbokwe was a devout  Christian of the Anglican faith, businesswoman,  philanthropist, and community leader.

She and her husband,  Chief Christian Igbokwe (Akukaria Akokwa)  helped so much in the growth of many Anglican Dioceses in Imo & Anambra states.

Chief Igbokwe is the traditional Prime Minister of Akokwa and one of the foremost industrialists in Onitsha, Anambra state. 

His Factory, ONALUMCO  Ltd,  was one the earliest Aluminium foundry industries East of the Niger. He also owns  Igbokwe Motors Ltd, a distributor of Volkswagen cars.

His beloved wife, the late  Lolo Mabel was a Director in the companies.

She is survived by her husband, only son, Chijioke, and nine beautiful daughters who have carved niches for themselves as Medical Doctors, pharmacists, Chartered accountants, and successful businesswomen.

The late Lolo Igbokwe is also survived by many Inlaws including Chief( Hon) Joel Jombo Munonye( Ogbujianyim Akokwa),  Chief Isreal Orjiekwe( Akuzurumba) Chairman, Golden Destiny Hotel Group Lagos among others.
