President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria has revealed shocking secrets of former Nigerian Military President and his colleague in the Army, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida who organized a military coup to overthrow his government on August 27, 1985. “I learnt that Aliyu Gusau, who was in charge of intelligence, took import licence from the ministry of commerce which was in charge of supplies and gave it to Alhaji Mai Deribe. It was worth N100,000, a lot of money at that time. I confronted them and took the case to the Army council in a memo…I wanted Gusau punished.”

After his government was sacked by Gen. Babangida, President Buhari was placed under house arrest for about two years. His mother died while he was in detention and he was not allowed to give his mother a befitting burial. His detention also crashed his marriage.
