For some time, the media has been awash of the alleged bitter war between Bayelsa State Governor, Hon. Seriake Dickson and First Lady of the nation, Dame (Dr.) Patience Jonathan, there were even talks of the president’s wife working against the second term ambition of the governor and plotting to install one of her loyalists to replace the incumbent governor.

Be that as it may, the hardworking governor spoke candidly to some selected senior editors in Lagos about his relationship with the first lady of the most powerful country in Africa. The governor explained that as an African, brought up with traditional values and culture, he cannot discuss his elder’s wife in public.

He added that the president’s wife is their mother, wife and sister and should be accorded high respect by her husband’s brothers and sisters. He said his political relationship with his boss and elder brother, President Goodluck Jonathan is as solid as a rock and that the good people of Bayelsa State will vote enmass for him during the presidential election.
