For those who don’t know, Rivers State governor, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi who is nursing an ambition to become Nigeria’s vice president in 2015 has got what he didn’t bargain for. Those in the now said national leadership of All Progressives Congress Party (APC) has met and deliberated on a candidate to run with the party’s presidential candidate for the 2015 presidential election and knocked him off.

In dumping Amaechi, APC leadership revealed that despite the huge resources Amaechi has invested to sponsor the party nationally and planted it in Rivers State; he cannot withstand the force of the nation when the time comes for the presidential election. They also reasoned that despite all his charisma, the Rivers State governor cannot deliver South-South for the party as long as Goodluck Jonathan has interest in seeking a return mandate. Those close to the speaker turned Governor said Imo State governor Rochas Okorocha who is also nursing the same ambition is responsible for the woes of Governor Amaechi.
