These are not the best of times for Zahra, daughter of President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria as her forthcoming marriage to Ahmed Indimi may have run into trouble waters.
Insiders squealed to us that trouble broke out on November 18, during the traditional introduction ceremony, when Ahmed Indimi’s sister, Yataka Indimi, insisted on taking her mobile phone into the Presidential Villa, Abuja, contrary to security protocol to record all the proceedings, including the delivery of several stacked dowry boxes valued at N44 million to the first family made by the French luxury brand, Louis Vuitton, with her mobile phone, despite the fact it was against standard security protocol in the villa.
Our sources added that in line with the Hausa/Fulani tradition, the boxes contained cash, jewelry, clothes, bags, shoes and other gifts valued at several millions of naira for Zahra and the first family.
Be that as it may, a fight broke out between Yataka and the security officials who tried to compel her to comply with protocol but she resisted. Mrs. Tanko Almakura, wife of Nasarawa State governor came in and tried to make peace but was said to have injured her arm in the process.
We gathered that President Buhari is not happy with the behaviour of the Indimis and threatened to return the boxes and stop the marriage ceremony that had been scheduled to hold on Sunday, December 4th, 2016. However, elders from the Indimi family are now begging the president.
