Elder statesman, Edwin Clark has called for the arrest of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike.

The South South leader, has petitioned the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun to arrest and prosecute the minister over his threat to set fire in the states of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors.

Clark, in a letter to the IGP on Thursday asked Egbetokun to arrest Wike.

He said: “Wike’s comments is a form of treason, capable of inciting violence in the country.”

“The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, Omoyele Sowore, and #EndBadGovernance protesters were arrested for similar offences.”

“The IGP must do the same with the FCT minister and get him to retract his statements.”

For those who don’t know, Wike had at the PDP secretariat in Port Harcourt, recently during the party’s state congress, warned PDP governors to stay away from the party’s affairs in Rivers.

He said: “Let me assure all of you, not while we live will anybody take away the structure of the PDP from us. But let me tell people, I hear some governors who say they will take over the structure and give it back to somebody.”

“I pity those governors because I will put fire in their states. When God has given you peace, you say you don’t want peace – anything you see, you take.”
