Mrs. Betsy Obaseki, wife of incoming governor of Edo State stormed the monthly Holy Ghost Night of the Redeemed Christian Church of God along Lagos-Ibadan expressway and she explained why: “The Bible directs us to make supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgiving for all people, for kings and for all in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.”

“It was a praise and worship session as well as prayers. It offered me the opportunity to take Edo State to God in prayers because I believe our prayers for Nigeria and Edo state in particular would turn the current situation around for good. The word of God says we should pray for the peace of Jerusalem, and Edo State or Nigeria by extension is our Jerusalem. There is no better time to pray for our dear state and country than now.”
