Air Commodore Umar Mohammed (retd.) was the head of Air Force properties and the Air Force Holding Company during his career in the military. He retired in 2014.
He owns a private jet firm with a fleet of about 10 aircraft, property company and other six companies. He became close to President Muhammadu Buhari shortly after the 2015 elections when he revealed information on security contracts running into billions of naira awarded by Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan’s government. Thereafter, President Buhari decided to set up a panel to probe the award of security contracts.
