Former Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Babatunde Fowler has been arrested.

He has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over an alleged N5 billion fraud.

He is currently being interrogated at the Lagos office of the EFCC.

For those who don’t know, nine senior officials of the FIRS were detained by the EFCC over alleged multi-billion naira fraud in 2019. Fowler was sacked by President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019.
