Battle for the mace at the Senate House

We were informed that thugs suspected to be loyal to the suspended lawmaker, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, representing Delta Central Senatorial district invaded the senate chamber and hijacked the mace which is a symbol of authority.

We gathered that they broke into the chambers when plenary was ongoing, thus taking the entire house by surprise and creating serious confusion and tension.

Recall that Senator Omo-Agege was recently suspended following his role in the electoral act amendment bill seeking to reorder the election sequence.
