Okotie Eboh, the first Finance Minister Federal Republic of Nigeria. was in the NCNC, National Commission for Nigeria and Cameroun, a political party under the leadership of the Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, while Awolowo Obafemi was the political leader of Action Group (AG). Rewane was in AG while Okotie Eboh was in NCNC with Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe as the President.
At the electoral polls, Awo lost the presidency to Azikiwe.

However, Awo contested and won the Premiership of Western Region,thereby known as the Premier of Western region. Western Region was the whole of the Western /Southern region with Ibadan as the headquarters.

Okotie Eboh brought Gulf Oil Company to Ugborodo, Federal Government College Warri and proposed Railway from Lagos to Escravos before he was unfortunately killed during the 1966 military coup. On the other hand Action Group led by Awo sponsored an executive bill to the reversion to the original title of the Olu of Warri on the floor of the Western House of Assembly Ibadan. The title of Olu of Warri was changed to Olu of Itsekiri in 1936, after the almost a century interregnum from 1848-1936 (88years).

Okotie Eboh proposed Itsekiri College Warri to address the complaint from the embarrassment faced by the Itsekiri students at Urhobo College Effurun. Rewane intending to use the location for the proposed Itsekiri College for his PalmGrove Hotel/Bamboo Garden did a document that was duly signed and endorsed by the Royal Signature which ceeded ownership of 214.4 acres to the Okumagba, Olodi, Ighogbadu, Oki family. Rewane and Begho may have done that for selfish reasons and political differences.

Just to frustrate NCNC developmental mantras in Itsekiri land. Because Itsekiri were already singing the praise of NCNC ahead of the next election before Okotie Eboh was killed.

When Contractors handling the proposed college mobilized to site, the Olodi, Ighogbadu Okumagba,Oki restrained them with a court injunction. They claimed the land and proposed site was theirs.

Okotie Eboh was furious and travelled from Lagos to Warri with the intention to deal with Okumagba, only to have discovered that the land deed Okumagba presented before the court carried a Royal signature of the Olu of Warri. Erejuwa 11.

He then used the Federal Government might and power to dethroned and deposed Erejuwa 11 (Atuwatse 11 and Ikenwoli Father)from Warri Kingdom,who reigned between 1951 to 1986.This made Erejuwa 11 to pronounced curse on the land and Okotie Eboh which so much Itsekiri believed till date was responsible for his gruesome death in the 1966 coup. The Moju Igbene that was enthroned instead of Erejuwa 11 also suffered ill health and abdicated the throne vacant until the Ruling House and Itsekiri nation decided to reinstate Erejuwa11.

It was this curse that Erejuwa 11 never revoked until his demise that his grandson and the newly crowned King, Atuwatse111 revoked on his coronation day on 21-21-21.
