Super Falcons Player Is Dead

Former Super Falcons player, Ifeanyichukwu Chiejine is dead. She died on Wednesday, August 21st, 2019 after a brief illness.

The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) on Thursday, August 22, 2019 announced her demise via its official Twitter page.

It wrote; “We are sad to announce the sudden demise of former Super Falcons player Ifeanyichukwu Chiejine who passed on after a brief illness on Wednesday, 21st August 2019. Ifeanyi captained the first set of the U19 National Women’s team to the first U19 (Now U20) @FIFAWWC in 2002.”

For those who don’t know, Ifeanyichukwu Chiejine played 61 games for the country’s senior women’s team between 1999 and 2008.

She was also part of the Super Falcons squad that won the African Women’s Championship in 2002.

She also played for SSVSM-Kairat Almaty in the Kazakhstani Championship, FC Indiana in USA’s W-League, KMF Kuopio and PK-35 Vantaa in Finland and Zvezda Perm in Russia over the course of her professional career.
