Faruk is praying the court for an order restraining the defendants from taking any of his three children outside Abuja without his consent or meddling in their affairs.

Faruk had in a letter dated November 6, 2017, also urged the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) to stop the defendants from taking his daughter out of the country.

His lawyer, Mohammed Shuaib added that the claim that the daughter is no more a child, having clocked the adult age of 18 is a non-issue under Islamic Law which states that until a daughter gets married, the father still maintains guardianship over her.
