Sen. Emma Anosike is very angry at the moment. The senator, a member of the panel that conducted the recent ward congresses in Cross River State is bitter with the Cross River State PDP Secretary, Mr. Godwin Etta for laying a N500million bribery allegation against him. The Anambra State born politician has been telling all those who cared to listen that the N500million bribery allegation is baseless and only exist in the figment of Godwin Etta’s imagination.
He said when the panel got to Calabar, they paid a courtesy call to Gov. Liyel Imoke who told them to conduct the ward congresses based on the law and rule of PDP. Thereafter, they held a caucus meeting where the state PDP executives told them that they have shortlisted some people that would contest and they said no, as the mandate they got from Abuja was that everybody should be allowed to contest.
That’s not all, the senator revealed that the Cross River State PDP executives provided the electoral officer they used to conduct the congresses and they even worked according to their postings. Yet they lost when Cross River South Senatorial district results came out. And they became worried. The chairman of the state PDP became jittery and said senator please do something, and I told him we won’t temper with the result after all it was their men that went to the field to conduct the congresses and brought the results and they lost.
According to the senator, the senate leader and other national assembly members from the state came to protest that they heard the results have been changed and I assured them nothing of such happened.
