Rivers State governor, Siminalayi Fubara has cried out to Nigerians.

He said: “We wake up this morning with a very troubling news and we went to the State House of Assembly to see for ourselves what has happened.”

“On my way, I was shot at directly by the police, OC Operation, but it doesn’t matter, somebody will die one way or the other. Either you die inside the house or on the road by something. So my journey today is whatever that wants to happen let it happen.”

“If I am Siminalayi Fubara is impeached, I will not be the first neither will I be the last.”

“What is important is any attempt that is not justified will be resisted. Let them come out and tell Rivers people the offence I have committed to warrant any impeachment.”

“Let me assure the people of Rivers that I will continue to ensure that you get the dividends of democracy. At the appropriate time I will address the press.”

There are reports of an impending impeachment process against Fubara following the removal of Edison Ehie as the House leader.

Be that as it may, information reaching us has it that the governor has suspended all Local Government Chairmen in the state and the Chief Judge too.

Besides, the Chief of Staff to the governor and SSG have been sacked. The Speaker, Rivers State House of Assembly has been impeached by the governor’s loyal lawmakers and the governor’s Chief Secretary Officer has been redeployed. We were told that the governor’s Chief of Protocol and all commissioners have been sacked.
