SHUAIB SALISU
Currently the Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Ibikunle Amosun, a politician who hails from Odeda Local Government area of Ogun State, he had started a serious campaign towards realizing his ambition of becoming the senator representing Ogun Central Senatorial district on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC). A seat currently occupied by Senator Gbenga Obadara who is also heard nursing ambition of returning to Abuja through the same party. However, public opinion seems not favourable to both of them as a result of their antecedents. Meanwhile, they are both expected to make a serious impact in the build to the elections period.
HON. TUNJI EGBETOKUN
A former speaker of Ogun State House of Assembly who became popular as a result of his political war with former Governor Gbenga Daniel and later defected to now defunct ACN. A grass roots politician who also played a major role in the emergence of Senator Ibikunle Amosun as Governor in 2011 elections but later appointed special adviser on political matters to the Governor. Egbetokun is also heard to have thrown in his cap as a major contender for the House of Representatives of Odeda/Abeokuta North/Obafemi Owode Federal constituency, a position currently occupied by Honourable Olumide Osoba, the son of former Governor Olusegun Osoba who also happens to be the National leader of APC. Developments which may cause a stir in the polity and politics of the State in the nearest future as it’s also obvious that Olumide Osoba is showing interest in returning to the hallowed chamber come 2015.
ABIODUN AKINLADE
Third time member of House of Representatives from Yewa South/Ipokia Federal Constituency, Akinlade who once lost the bid to fly ACN gubernatorial flag to the incumbent Governor Amosun in 2011 is now back in the race apparently with much more determination as the Yewa born politician is learnt to have launched a massive campaign through Labour Party in order to unseat the present occupier of number one political post in the State.
GBOYEGA NASIR ISIAKA
Popularly known as GNI by the people, Prince Isiaka who also hailed from Yewa, Imeko Afon to be precise once contested the governorship post under the platform of PPN in 2011 but came third and eventually lost to Governor Ibikunle Amosun. The University of Ife product is again back to the race with a new vigour but public opinions made it known that the gentleman lacks political muscle to contend with an incumbent, however, with the support of OGD structure, the Yewa prince may also spring a surprise during the forth coming elections.
SINA KAWONISE
Former commissioner for Information and Strategy in the State and recorded a brilliant performance while in office, Kawonise who is also known as a major threat to the current administration due to his various criticisms of anti-people policies has joined the race to Oke Mosan towards 2015. Ago Iwoye born media practitioner who seems to have determined in his quest is definitely having something up his sleeves and it is going to make a powerful impact as political events unfold in the nearest future.
SARAFA TUNJI ISHOLA
A well known grassroots politician who has held many political positions in the past such as Secretary to the State Government, Minister of Mines and Steel and also Chairman of Abeokuta North Local Government. No doubt, the entrance of Ishola in the guber race is going to upset the scene as the Egba born politician is heard to have started oiling his political machineries across the state ahead of the coming elections on the platform of Labour Party.
REMMY HASSAN
Currently a member of Ogun State House Of Assembly representing Odogblu Constituency, Hassan a second timer at the hallowed chamber is planning to up his political game as he has now joined the race for House of Representatives. ABOLAJI FAGBUYI
An oil and gas mogul who has travelled far and wide, Fagbuyi who hails from Yewa axis of the State even though described as neophyte in Nigeria politics is also proving to be a man of the people whose track records of his philanthropy speaks volume is already making impact towards the 2015 elections.
SIKIRULAHI OLAWALE OGUNDELE
Two-time member of Ogun State House of Assembly and former chairman of Ifo Local Government, Ogundele is indeed a determined contender for the Governorship seat of Gateway State on the platform of PDP. The Yewa born politician who is currently a member of House of Representatives, representing Alimosho/Oke Odo Federal Constituency from Lagos State is another top aspirant jostling for the Senatorial seat of Ogun West in the coming elections and he has started a wide consultation among the stake holders in the axis.
