Peter Obi’s Simplicity

Peter ObiSince he left office as governor of Anambra State few months ago, Peter Obi, has gone back to his old simple way of life. We learnt the former governor during the late Justice Oputa’s funeral, unlike others who have been in that position but still maintain the paraphernalia, the amiable former governor was his humble self, he walked past many people unnoticed.

The top politician took his humility further at the church service when he took his time to attend and shake hands with people that came to meet him. He also danced with some Anambra local musicians who were at the event.

Peter Obi was governor of Anambra State in Nigeria from 17 March 2006 to 2 November 2006, when he was impeached and from 9 February 2007 to 29 May 2007 after his impeachment was overturned. Although a fresh election was held on 29 April 2007, he was reappointed governor on 14 June 2007 after a court ruling that he should be allowed to complete a four-year term. He won February 6, 2010 election for a second term as governor. He handed over to the present governor of the state, Willie Obaino.
