Senator Adams Oshiomhole, former Governor of Edo State and current federal lawmaker, has issued a strong warning to former President Goodluck Jonathan amid reports of political pressure urging him to contest the 2027 presidential election.

Oshiomhole said: “How can Jonathan be a threat? We defeated him before, when PDP was truly PDP. If a man had PDP at its peak, I think it is only his enemies that will push him into the ring.”

“That may not be helpful to him. I think he has managed to demonstrate that out of power you can be relevant and really at peace.”

“If I will be able to advise him, I will say ‘Sir, maintain this status’. If I were him I will spend the rest of my life trying to find relevance, which he has already found”.
