Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has bared his mind on Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi after a meeting with him.
He said: “I am open-minded about receiving any presidential candidate regardless of party affiliation.”
“I could not turn down a request to attend such meetings. I did nothing wrong by attending the meeting with Obi.”
“At the end, the solution to the challenges of Nigeria is what matters. Where we are today calls for all hands to be on deck.
“I am free to receive any candidate who comes visiting or seeking audience with me. I cannot say no when such request comes.”
For those who don’t know, Peter Obi recently met with Governors Nyesom Wike, Samuel Ortom, Okezie Ikpeazu and former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mohammed Adoke.
Besides, others at the meeting include ex-Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State, former Governor of Cross River State, Donald Duke and ex-Governor Ibrahim Dankwanbo of Gombe State, among others.
