Wife of the Ondo State Governor, Arabinrin Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu says her ‘OLORI CONNECTION’ initiative is borne out of the first lady of Nigeria, Mrs. Aisha Buhari’s passion for women and children as well as a result of the undertaking she had signed to ensure quality life for the masses.

The Ondo State first lady made this known at the end of her campaign tour of the RMNCAH + N project in Okitipupa, the headquarters of Okitipupa local government of the state on Friday during a meeting with wives of traditional rulers in the southern senatorial district of the state.
Arabinrin Akeredolu who had earlier held similar meetings with stakeholders at the central and northern parts of the state appreciated the large turnout of the people in the area. She acknowledged Mrs Buhari’s focus on the welfare of women and children. According to her “I noticed that women are still dying during pregnancy, child-bearing and inability to take care of the living children which prompted me to do something about it”.
”The president’s wife who thought that she could not do it alone invited wives of the governors and solicited for our collaborative efforts at achieving her mission, therefore in a bid to make the project a huge success, I decided to take it to the grassroots in Ondo State through the Oloris”.
She emphasised the importance of immunisation and its free administration to children and frowned at why people are not accessing the benefit to the fullest.
Resource persons who spoke on several topics at the programme included Dr. Banke Oluwafemi, Dr. Francis Akanbiemu, Mrs. Bosede Ojumu and Mr. Falusi Tunbosun, the Ondo State Director, National Orientation Agency (NOA). Participants at the programme applauded Mrs Akeredolu for the good works she is doing in the state.
Also speaking wife of the Abodi of Ikale, Olori Grace Faduyile, said Arabinrin Akeredolu’s job in less than one year in office had surpassed what many wives of some governors did in four years or more. She promised to make sure that the programme is fully implimented in her kingdom.
Wife of the Jegun of Ile-Oluji, Olori Adetokunbo Adetimehin said that it is very important to join hands together to make the project succeed. According to her “It is only in an uncivilised society that registrations of birth and death are not taken serious in the modern days,”
The host Chairman, who is equally the chairman of Okitipupa Local Government, Mrs. Morenike Alaka emphasised that “Nothing compares with the initiatives of our only ‘digital Mama’. Top local government officials and political leaders from the six council areas in the southern senatorial district graced the occasion.
