Olusegun Osoba Speaks On War With Gov. Amosun

CHIEF OLUSEGUN OSOBA (1)Former governor of Ogun State and ACN Leader in Ogun State, Aremo Olusegun Osoba told Sunday Adeyemi that Action Congress of Nigeria has done its home work in the southwest and it will be very difficult for the PDP to penetrate any state in the region. Enjoy it…

You are here to felicitate with  Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu who is giving his mother a funeral rite, how will you describe Alhaja Mogaji?

It is always good to be good in whatever you do in life. If  mama was not good, people like us would not be here or even to make any comment about her, so Alhaja was a wonderful woman throughout her lifetime. I am very close to the family so I know what I am talking about. Alhaja Mogaji was a mother that ensured better future for her children. Everybody is enjoying from the leader of Action Congress of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, mama had contributed her quota, the rest is left for us the children to carry on with the good job.

What are the chances of ACN in Ogun; judging by various complaints of underdevelopment in the state under the present leadership?.

Opposition will continue to find news where there is no news, what will you expect. Any government that does not receive criticism is not performing. In Ogun State, the chances of our great party are bright because in the southwest today ACN is the party to beat, we have our style in the party that mandated any political office appointee to perform to a minimum standard. If you look at all the ACN controlled states, you will see the standard of development. Also, our manifesto is broadly protected because this serves as a guide to the standard expected of any political office holder. If you monitor very well, you will see that employment generation is paramount among all the southwest states. We believe that if people are empowered, all other sectors too will receive slight boost, so without any contradiction, PDP has been laid to rest for now in the southwest region.

What of ACN chances in Ogun State?

I have to use general language because Ogun State is among the southwest states, we have built a structure that is difficult for anybody to alter. Also, our commitment to the people is another channel because what the people have experienced so far in the present government, they did not see such development in the past eight years. In Ogun State, our chances are bright anytime any day.

There are rumours that major leaders of ACN are joining the Labour Party, how true is that?

As far as I am concerned, I have not seen any of our leaders decamping to Labour Party. Let’s be frank; is it possible for party faithful whose party is in government to leave and join a minority party, the party that was not known, is it possible? It’s not so, where is that topic coming from, this is just the handiwork of some detractors.

You should have asked those circulating the rumour to point to one ACN strong member that decamped. People may decamp if they wish but those that decamped are not ACN strong members.

Are you satisfied with the level of development in Ogun State?

Ogun State of today has changed from what it used to be a few years ago, like I told you, in ACN, we have a standard which all political office holders must abide to, to ensure rapid development in Ogun State but we can still do more, but all the same, we are witnessing what we have not seen for close to 10 years.

There is also this rumour that you and your state governor are not in good terms?

Where did you hear that?; there is nothing like that, we are all stakeholders in the state saddled with the responsibility to deliver dividends of democracy to our people, it is a mere rumour and there is no element of truth in it. In ACN, we are one family with same vision and focus for development.
