Popular Nigerian music rapper, Oladips (Oladipupo Olabode Oladimeji) has narrated his bitter experience with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

He said: “Nigeria just happened to me because it was just a normal night and EFCC entered my estate. I mean it’s a big estate and they were just going from house to house arresting people. I was inside my house. It was about 3am.”

“I saw it inside the estate group that EFCC were inside. I promise you, I was on my bed pressing phone because it’s none of my business. I didn’t run because I don’t do fraud, I don’t do Yahoo. Na person wey do fraud go dey run.”

“The next thing, they broke my kitchen door and entered my house and asked for my phone and laptop. I’m only using two phones, I don’t have a laptop. So they collected my phones did their investigation and realised that I don’t fraud. When they can’t find anything to hold me down, That’s when one of their oga came out and said do I pay tax? That’s how they locked me up for not paying tax.”

In November 2024, the EFCC operatives reportedly raided Oladip’s estate around  3a.m., arresting him along with several other residents over fraud allegations.
