Delta State governor, Ifeanyi Okowa is now fighting his political godfather, former Governor James Ibori.

Insiders squealed to us that the bitter political war between the governor and his godfather is over the choice of who will become the next governor of the state.

Our sources added that Okowa and Ibori are supporting different aspirants as the next governor of the state.

We gathered that the governor has told Ibori point blank that he will not support his preferred candidate for the 2023 governorship ticket.

Sources told us that Okowa travelled to Lagos to explain his position on the governorship nominee to Ibori, months ago.

Be that as it may, PDP National Chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu has counseled Okowa to listen to Ibori’s suggestions on how to move the party forward in the state as regards the forthcoming governorship election.

Those in the know added that Ibori and Okowa had met after the national chairman’s directive but there has been no assurance if they have reconciled their differences on who becomes the next governor of the state.
