The war between Soun of Ogbomoso, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Afolabi Ghandi Olaoye and the Chief Imam of the Central Mosque in the town, Sheik Takiat Yunus Olusina Ayilara has taken a fresh dimension.
The king has given the following conditions for peace.
He said: “As father to all, I have no business with removing the Chief Imam in as much as his paternity issue with the Ayilara family is resolved.”
“The Chief Imam should present the story about the title of Chief Imam the way it is, against what he presented in court and what he wrote in response to the query.”
“The Mosque belongs to the palace and the title of the Imam of Ogbomosoland is within the Soun’s power to award.”
“The Chief Imam must reverse all the appointments he made without Soun’s approval.”
“If the Chief Imam insist on a free reign, the only option will be for him to vacate the Ogbomoso Central Mosque forthwith because the Mosque belongs to the Soun and that it is because he (Chief Imam) is in the Soun’s Mosque that he’s regarded as the Chief Imam.”
