The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has quickly reacted to the report making the rounds that the National Leader of the party, Rabiu Kwankwaso has been suspended by the party.
The Kano State Chairman of NNPP, Hashimu Dungurawa said:
“Nothing like that, right now, Kwankwao is attending a well-represented NEC meeting of the party in Abuja.”
“Kwankwaso is the leader of the party and for somebody to come out with a fake news of his suspension is tantamount to dragging his names and hard earned reputation to the mud.”
“I am presently in Abuja where the party executive is holding a meeting, there was nothing like that.”
However, a faction of the party on Tuesday was said to have suspended Kwankwaso alongside other members over alleged anti-party activities in various meetings.
The group claimed that there was material evidence showing that the party’s flagbearer for the February 25, presidential poll has been involved in anti-party activities.
